I played Carolina +.5 +200....

DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars added another improbable victory to an ever-growing list.

Sergei Zubov scored twice, including the game-winner with one-tenth of a second left in overtime, and the Dallas Stars are now unbeaten in 19 of their past 20 games (15-1-4) after a 2-1 win Tuesday night over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Unbelieveable bad beat, I saw the goal on sportscenter this morning: from ESPN.com:

DALLAS (AP) -- The Dallas Stars added another improbable victory to an ever-growing list.

Sergei Zubov scored twice, including the game-winner with one-tenth of a second left in overtime, and the Dallas Stars remained unbeaten in 19 of their last 20 games (15-1-4) with a 2-1 win Tuesday night over the Carolina Hurricanes.

With overtime about to expire, Zubov skated in from his defensive position and backhanded the rebound of Jason Arnott's shot between the right goal post and the right pad of Carolina goaltender Kevin Weekes for Zubov's eighth of the season.

"I saw the puck was just lying there," Zubov said. "There was a half-second left so I just put it on net."

The last-second goal marked the sixth time since the NHL instituted regular-season overtime in 1983 that a team scored at 4:59 of the extra five minutes. Dallas was the previous team to do so, beating Vancouver on Feb. 28, 2002, on a goal by Modano.

"I don't think I've ever seen that," Carolina captain Ron Francis said.

Weekes couldn't react on Zubov's desperation shot.

"I didn't even see it," he said. "I think he banged it off me. I didn't even know it went in, but after I heard the crowd, I just wanted to get off the ice and into the shower."

"You can't explain those plays," Zubov said. "It's not like something you can teach in school. When you have time and space, you just try to make a play."

I did not post this to rub it in, but just to show how incredible the goal was.

IK, I came home and did the old super slow scroll....but seen Carolina lost, then I did some reading and seen they lost like that! Can't really be upset, sometimes it happens to benefit a play also. Just seems to be tough for me now, usually is right after the All Star break....I wish I could explain it LOL

Nah Wil, don't take it as you rubbing it in...I actually had a laugh reading it again

"There was like a half second left, so I just put it in the net" hmmmm, just had to laugh about that...like he looked at the clock and said "Oh Shit...I better get this in!"

Thanks Juggler, I hope so...but like Ivan stated, I guess I'm still up so why worry about a few losses..

Thanks for the replies guys! I fell better now, its a new day!!

I noticed a lot of guys took Dallas with the bad line in the contest and no one took the Canes at the incorrect price. The right thing to do was take the Stars -.5- 260. tsk tsk.

Actually, the only incorrect line was Dallas -1/2 -150; the Carolina line was correct at +1/2 +220. To a ceratin extent, I am responsible for this, as I highlighted the incorrect line and indicated that it was OK to take it, as it had already been selected several times.

I must note that CardFather did point this out.

About four weeks ago, I reversed the pucks on a Vancouver at Detroit game, showing Detroit +1/2 and Vancouver -1/2. In this case, I didn't catch the problem until I graded the selections, but I will say that a number of people did post their selections with the correct line (eg: Detroit -1/2) and others pointed out the error.

Past experience has shown a number of contest participants were willing to do the right thing with a bad line. In the case of the Dallas game, I took away that avenue.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Because of their own carelessness, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks needed an extra 10 seconds to beat the Calgary Flames and break an obscure NHL record.

Steve Rucchin set up Mike Leclerc's overtime goal with his third assist and Petr Sykora scored twice in the third period as the Ducks edged Calgary 4-3 Wednesday night after blowing the lead with two-tenths of a second left in regulation.

"It would have hurt us if we wouldn't have won,'' Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere said. "I mean, when you're up like that and they score with .2 seconds left, it's pretty hard mentally.

"It was huge to get the two points -- although that's obviously not the way you want to get it -- but we'll learn from it. To be successful, you have to work for 60 minutes.''

The Ducks' last 10 victories all have been by one goal. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that breaks the mark set by the original Ottawa Senators franchise during the 1926-27 season.

.2 tenths of a second and the game is tied, I wanted to break my computer (no NHL tv in CR), then all of a sudden 4 to 3 Ducks and its Miller time. Talk about roller coaster rides.
